On May 20, 2024, as part of an ongoing investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence on River Crescent on Misipawistik Cree Nation. Grand Rapids RCMP, the RCMP Emergency Response Team, and RCMP Police Service Dog Mack all attended.

The search resulted in officers locating drug paraphernalia, ammunition for a firearm, cell phones, and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

Terry Mitchell, 19, was arrested and charged for Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Order x2. A second 19-year-old male was arrested but not yet charged for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Both have been released from custody.

Two other people were arrested at the residence, but were later released without charges.

The investigation continues.
