In June, students and teachers from Wapanohk Community School will head to Paint Lake for three days and two nights for a land-based field trip.
Lisa Reddy, an EA at the school and one of the trip’s organizers, says about 35 Grade 6 students and 5 chaperones will be participating.
Reddy says the group needs support from the community for some supplies.
“We are hoping the community will help us with fishing rods, tents, sleeping bags, everything that’s related to camping is really what we need.”
Activities for the students will include setting up the campsites, building fires, an archery competition, fishing, and hopefully a chance to go kayaking.
The group needs a lifeguard who can join them so the kayaking activity can take place.
