A local business is holding a community spring clean-up this weekend in the downtown area.

 

Dennis Foley with DJ Lawn Services says he decided to organize the clean-up after seeing social media posts from locals about the debris in the area and seeing other organizations and businesses holding their own clean-up events.

 

Foley adds he planned the clean-up with the city’s recreation director, and that the City of Thompson will be providing supplies for the event.

 

Here, he shares how the clean-up will work.

 

"We're all going to meet at the Canadian Tire parking lot on Saturday, the 20th, at 11 o'clock.  We're going to get our gloves, get our bags.  Then basically we're just going to expand from there, from the downtown and expanding even further, picking up garbage, whether it's in front of a business or public property.   We just want to do everything we can to alleviate some of the litter stress that's happening in our downtown area."
