An event to commemorate Moose Hide Campaign Day is taking place at the Royal Canadian Legion today

Today is Moose Hide Campaign Day, which aims to engage men and boys in addressing the issue of family and gender-based violence.

Co-founder of the initiative, Raven Lacerte, has more.

“The Moose Hide Campaign is a group of Canadians that are taking a stand against violence towards women and children. We wear a small patch of moose hide on our clothes or on our backpacks or bags. It shows an every day commitment and an everyday reminder that we are standing up to violence towards women and children”

Lacerte says moose hide pins can be ordered for free on the organization’s website year-round.

A local event is taking place at the Royal Canadian Legion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to commemorate Moose Hide Campaign Day.

The full interview with Lacerte can be heard this afternoon on Thompson Today.
