Thompson RCMP is investigating a homicide that occurred earlier this week.
On July 12 at around 8 p.m., police received a call of a stabbing on Waterloo Avenue.
The 60-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries.
44-year-old Peter Lysohirka was taken into custody and charged with Second Degree Murder. While in custody, RCMP say Lysohirka assaulted a police officer in the cell area of the Thompson Detachment, and was also charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer.
The suspect was to appear in court today.
