On July 4, 2022, at approximately 2:00 pm, Thompson Rural RCMP received a report that cocaine was being taken into Lac Brochet on a flight. Officers attended the Thompson Municipal Airport and identified the three suspects headed to Lac Brochet. Multiple cartons of unstamped cigarettes were located in their belongings.

In total, approximately 10,000 illegal cigarettes were seized. No cocaine was located.

A 56-year-old male, a 45-year-old male, and a 27-year-old female, all from Lac Brochet, were arrested and are facing multiple charges under the Criminal Code and Excise Act. They have been released from custody with a court date.
