The annual Nickel Days fair won’t be going ahead again this year.
The board of directors announced its decision to cancel this year’s event in a Facebook post, citing the health and safety of their volunteers, fairgoers, vendors, performers, and communities.
This comes as Manitoba’s COVID-19 case counts are trending upwards in the third wave of the pandemic.
Last year’s event was also cancelled due to COVID-19.
The committee goes on to say they’re looking forward to planning the 50th Nickel Days event for 2022.
