A local teen is celebrating his birthday by giving back to the community.
Colin Winship, who is turning 18 this Sunday, has organized a "party with a cause", where he will be providing a pizza party for residents of the shelter on his 18th birthday, which is on May 2. He invites Thompson residents to give a monetary donation for the shelter to help them purchase what they need.
Winship explains he wanted to do something special and unique for his 18th birthday, and adds that no one has had a birthday celebration for the Thompson Homeless Shelter before.
Those interested in donating can do so by e-transfer to caroline@winship.ca or by dropping them off in an envelope marked “Party with a cause” at 128 Copper Road by May 2 at noon.
