Thompson RCMP intercept drugs headed north in a case of KD

Three Thompson residents were arrested after a delivery vehicle headed to a First Nations community was intercepted.

Police became aware that a large amount of illegal drugs were to be delivered to Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation on Thursday afternoon.

Officers seized the cargo, which included a case of Kraft Dinner boxes and a box of baby formula with altered packaging.

When the packages were open, officers found baggies containing 480 grams of illicit dried cannabis, alcohol, and Oxycodone and Alprazolam pills. The bust led investigators to a house on Martin Bay, where almost 700 grams of illicit pot was found along with drug trafficking equipment.

45 year-old Mac Labelle, 31-year-old Tina Spence, and 46-year-old Derek Vivier are charged with multiple offences, and have been released from police custody pending a court date.
