On March 10, 2021, at approximately 4:25 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of two males that had been found deceased, outside the community of Lac Brochet.

On March 9, 2021, three males had been out snowmobiling near Lac Brochet, when their machine broke down.  All three males began walking back towards the community, however it is believed that due to poor conditions, the three became separated. A 31-year-old male made it back to Lac Brochet, however the other two did not.

Community members went out to search and located the two missing men, ages, 26 and 20, deceased, not far from the community. It is believed they died from exposure.

Although no criminality is suspected in the death, the investigation remains ongoing as we await the results of the autopsy.

Thompson RCMP along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner continue to investigate.
