Thompson RCMP respond to several violent incidents in the span of four hours

On March 10, 2021, between 10:55 pm and 2:15 am the following morning, Thompson RCMP responded to three violent incidents.

 

At 10:55 pm, RCMP received a report of a male that had been stabbed multiple times, on Public Road in Thompson. A 29-year-old male victim had been approached by two males and a female who attempted to steal items from his possession. The victim was pepper-sprayed and stabbed several times. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

At 11:00 pm, RCMP received a second report of a stabbing that had occurred earlier that evening. A 35-year-old male was walking on Thompson Drive South when a group of youths approached him and assaulted him. The victim was stabbed several times and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

At 2:15 am, RCMP responded to a home invasion on McGill Place in Thompson. A lone male suspect kicked in the door, pepper-sprayed the occupants and fled on foot. Officers followed the suspect’s footprints where he was located at a nearby residence and arrested.

 

A 16-year-old male from Thompson is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
