Lifesaving Society Manitoba issues ice advisory following above average temperatures across the province

Due to ongoing above average and fluctuating temperatures in the province, Lifesaving Society Manitoba is recommending everyone to stay off frozen bodies of water.

The organization goes on to say that because of this, all ice in the province is now unpredictable and potentially unsafe.

Water Smart Coordinator Doctor Christopher Love states if people do decide to go on the ice regardless, they need to plan ahead and be prepared to go through the ice and into the cold water.

Love adds people should wear something that floats like a lifejacket, don;t go out alone, and be prepared to perform a rescue.

Listen to Thompson Today at 12:40 and 5:10 this afternoon to learn more about ice safety.
