On February 26, 2021, RCMP officers from Cross Lake and the Thompson General Investigative Section (GIS) executed a search warrant under the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act (LGCCA) at a residence located on Evans Road in Cross Lake. The search of the residence resulted in the seizure of liquor, cannabis, cash and trafficking paraphernalia.
Officers arrested a 29-year-old male and a 28-year-old female, both from Cross Lake, in response to this investigation. The two accused will be appearing in court in Cross Lake on June 18, 2021, on charges of Unauthorized Sale of Liquor under the LGCCA and Possessing Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling under the Cannabis Act.
