Thompson Fire and EMS and RCMP respond to 2 fires on Fox Bay and Cree Road

Thompson Fire and Emergency Services and RCMP had a busy 24 hours respondong to two fires.

 

The fire department first responded to a residential fire on Cree Road yesterday evening at approximately 6:35.

 

While the fire was contained, the residence is a total loss. Both tenants were able to escape the residence with injury, but the building sustained significant damage.

 

Then just after midnight, the fire department and local police were called to another fire, this time on 35 Fox Bay.

 

The building was being evacuated when Fire and EMS and the RCMP arrived.

 

RCMP says one person was reported to have jumped from the second story of the apartment, and was later located by police uninjured.

 

The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported, and was believed to have started in the kitchen area of the building.
