One Thompson man was arrested over the weekend after pretending he was a police officer.

RCMP received the complain Saturday morning of man approaching people on Beaver Crescent and telling them he was a police officer doing patrols.

Police found the intoxicated 19-year-old, who was identified as the suspect.

The man was arrested and taken into custody for impersonating a peace officer.

The suspect was released once he sobered up, and is to appear in court at a later date.
