Sixties Scoop survivors granted extension for eligibility claims

A Judge has granted Sixties Scoop Survivors more time to process their settlement eligibility claims. The ruling comes after Winnipeg Centre MP Leah Gazan raised the issue in the House of Commons. The director of the Sixties Scoop Legacy of Canada stated in a news release that she was pleased that this extension was provided so that survivors and adoptees can establish their claims. Gazan sent letters to the Minister of indigenous Services and the Minister of Indigenous Relations to ask for the extension. She says that this is just a small step and the survivors deserve justice.
