Last night, the Forest View Suites South Tower was evacuated due to severe flooding.

 

Flooding in the electrical room and several high voltage panels had resulted in a significant electrical hazard for residents.

 

A Reception Centre for South Tower evacuees has been set up in the TRCC lobby. All Forest View Suites evacuees are asked to register at the TRCC reception Centre by 3:00pm today in order to receive emergency support.

 

Manitoba Hydro is assessing the building and it's electrical equipment before residents can return to the building.

 

This could take at least 24 hours due to the extent of the damage.

 

The City of Thompson's Emergency Operating Team will provide updates to evacuees and the public as they become available.
