The Thompson Chamber of Commerce and UCN will be holding their first Christmas Tree Contest and Auction this weekend.

 

The contest’s organizer, Charlotte Larocque, says five trees are entered into the contest, with four of them coming from organizations and businesses in Thompson.

 

Larocque explains that people who weren’t able to enter a tree can still volunteer on the day of the contest and auction or donate prizes and snacks for the event.

 

She adds that UCN and the Chamber of Commerce hopes this becomes a holiday tradition for years to come.

 

The Christmas Tree Decorating Contest and Auction will take place at UCN this Saturday at 11 AM.

 

Proceeds from the auction will be split evenly between the four organizations 100 Women Who Care Thompson will support next year.
