The Thompson Community Foundation Continues to Grow

The Thompson Community Foundation continues to grow.

Foundation President, Colin Bonnycastle, explains here.

“Last week, Dave Moore, an individual from Thompson created the Irene Evelyn Moore Unrestricted Fund in honour of his late wife. Through the fund he has contributed $10-thousand to the Thompson Community Foundation.”

Bonnycastle goes on to explain what is meant by the fund being unrestricted.

“It’s flexible in that we can use it as part of our general funding to any organization in the community. There’s no restriction on who would be eligible for this fund.”

The T-C-F is a non-profit organization which acts as a savings account to help provide funding for projects that benefit the community.

It receives donations from individuals which accumulate in a fund. In turn, the interest from the fund provides grants to groups in Thompson and their projects.

In 2018 alone, over 100-thousand dollars was granted to local organizations.
