Over $5 Thousand Raised For Missing Girl's Family

A community fundraiser brought in just over 5 thousand dollars to help a family look for their daughter in Winnipeg.

Christine Wood, who went missing in Winnipeg while on a visit from Oxford House, disappeared more than a month ago on August 19th. The Keewatin Tribal Council hosted a silent auction, bake sale, and hotdog lunch to raise money, to help Christine's parents with living arrangements when they are living in Winnipeg while conducting a search.

Winnipeg Police continue to investigate Wood's disappearance. A spokesman says there has been a reported sighting but nothing which has been confirmed.

The fundraiser brought out hundreds of people on a Friday afternoon. It was put on by the KTC and the Oxford House First Nation.
