Thompson RCMP Officer in Charge, Will Tewnion, presented City Council with the detachment policing priorities for the year during Monday’s council meeting.

Tewnion tells us how the 5 priorities compare to last year: "They’re pretty similar expect some of the initiatives have changed. We're still focused on pretty much the same priorities but just the way we go about working on those priorities has mortified a little bit".

The priorities are drug trafficking, youth at risk, substance abuse, traffic safety, and domestic violence.

Tewnion reminds the public that the RCMP will still do their every day activities, just that these 5 will be their strategic focus.
