Alain Huberdeau of Law North is Province's Newest Judge

Alain Huberdeau, a Thompson lawyer, is one of Manitoba's newest judges.   The appointment was confirmed last Wednesday by Justice Minister Andrew Swan.

He is the latest in a long line of judges that has come from the law firm currently known as Law North.

Huberdeau joined the law firm of Morrison, McDonald and Thompson in 1996 as an articling student, was called to the bar in 1997 and joined as a partner in 2001.  He became the managing partner after Thompson and McDonald were appointed as judges, in 2003 and 2010 respectively.

Huberdeau's official swearing-in is tentatively set for October 31st, an event he will share with Judge Katharine Hembroff from The Pas.    He will serve the northern judicial centre, including Thompson and the surrounding area.
