Two candidates, two platforms. That’s what those attending the Mayoral Candidates Forum at the Ma-Mow-We-Tak Friendship Centre heard on Wednesday at noon.

Dennis Fenske kicked off opening remarks by stating his run for Mayor was based on leadership - how he had the proven experience to lead the City and council in the next four-year term.

Luke Robinson stated his campaign focused on inclusiveness, both within the council itself and for the members of the community looking to be involved in the decision-making process.

Questions from the floor related to the improvement of the business climate in the city, the possibility of a casino in or near Thompson, and the City’s extreme cold weather policy, among others.

A forum for candidates for council will be held next Wednesday at the same time and place.

Tickets are $20 from the Chamber office in the City Centre Mall.
