Operation Christmas Child is a way to share the Christmas spirit with children in countries dealing with poverty, war or natural disasters. By packing a shoe box you may be giving a child the only gift they will ever receive.
Let a child somewhere in the world know they aren't forgotten. Get your family, co-workers, students or church members to fill a box, too.
How to Pack a Box
Start with an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately. You can use your own shoeboxes or use one of the colorful preprinted ones, available here at 102.9 CHTM. They hold up well and can be lasting gifts in themselves for children to store cherished items.
Here are some ideas on what to pack and what NOT to pack:
“Wow” Item
Delight a kid! Start with a medium to large item that will capture the child’s attention the instant he or she opens the box.
Ideas include: Soccer ball with pump, Stuffed animal, Toys (puppets, trucks, etc.), Doll (baby, Barbie, etc.), Musical instrument, Outfit, Shoes

Non-liquid Hygiene Items: toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, washcloths, etc.
