The Flin Flon Bombers will start their preparation for the playoffs this weekend as they play a home-and-home weekend set with the Nipawin Hawks, who lead the SJHL with 82 points and are currently listed as the fourth best Junior “A” club in Canada.

Tonight’s game will be the second of three games in a row that the two teams will play against each other. They have met six times already this season, with the Hawks getting the better of the Bombers in four of the games. Nipawin has outscored Flin Flon 24-10 so far this season.

Prince Albert native Josh McDougall leads Nipawin in scoring this season with 64 points (15Gm 19A) in 49 games played. The 1998-born skater will be lacing up for the Mercyhurst University next season to play NCAA D1 hockey. Flin Flon is led by Nate Hooper, who has 48 points (19G, 29A) in 50 games. The 20-year-old former Winnipeg Thrasher is in his second season with the Bombers.

Flin Flon has six games left in the regular season after this weekend.
