Arctic Radio in northern Manitoba is made up of three sister stations all broadcasting at 102.9 FM and with individual AM signals at 590 CFAR (Flin Flon, including Creighton and Denare Beach, SK), 610 CTHM in Thompson, and 1240 CJAR in The Pas and OCN.  

 

This group runs three stations linked in management but with separate programming.  We have a Hot AC and Soft Rock format with a target audience of women ages 25 – 54 years old.  The Arctic Radio stations are the only locally owned and operated radio stations in each of our communities. 

 

Our loyal listeners are made up of those working in the major industries in our respective communities (Vale, HudBay and Tolko); local, provincial and federal government services; the Northern Regional Health Authority; the Mystery Lake,  Frontier, Flin Flon, Kelsey and Creighton School Divisions, and Opaskwayak Education Authority; the University College of the North; the hospitality and tourism industry including hotels and restaurants; national chain stores and, of course, the locally owned and operated businesses that are a sign of the commitment to and belief that northern Manitoba is a great place to do business.
