Manitoba designates entire province under Critical/Red zone beginning Thursday

Manitoba Chief Public Health Officer Dr, Brent Roussin says increasing COVID-19 numbers must be stopped.  Roussin announced as of Thursday the entire province will move into the red critical zone listing some of the restrictions.

He reports there’ll be no social gatherings permitted, social contact is reduced to members of your household only, travel to and from northern Manitoba is restricted and non-essential travel is strongly discouraged.

Retail businesses listed as critical services can remain open at 25 percent capacity including grocery stores, pharmacies and others. Retail businesses not on the list can provide e-service curbside pick or delivery only, all gyms and fitness centers must close and sites that provide space for religious gatherings must close.

All recreation activities, sports facilities and libraries must also close.

No changes will be made to child care services or kindergarten to grade 12 education delivery as there has not been widespread transmission in schools.
