As the north continues to see a rise in COVID-19 cases, our local MP is urging the province to consider stricter restrictions in the region.

In her letter to Chief Public Health Officer Doctor Brent Roussin, Niki Ashton states that she’s hearing from many communities that they are concerned about further outbreaks in the north.

Ashton explains that there have already been a number of outbreaks declared across the region, and she says it could spread to other communities rapidly.

Ashton goes on to call on Roussin to consider putting northern Manitoba under critical/red, with specific restrictions related to travel between communities for essential purposes only.
