Outbreak declared at Keeyask as Manitoba announces 374 new COVID-19 cases

Public Health has declared an outbreak at the Manitoba Hydro Keeyask site, and has been moved to Critical/Red under the Pandemic Response System.

The outbreak was announced at this afternoon’s provincial COVID-19 news conference.

As of Nov. 3, 20 workers at the site have tested positive for COVID-19, and Manitoba Hydro says there are 59 workers isolating at the site.

Manitoba’s Chief Public Health Officer Doctor Brent Roussin explained that up-to-date case numbers at the site are pending, and public health investigations are ongoing. Roussin added that Manitoba Hydro would provide updates as more information becomes available.

374 new cases of COVID-19 were announced, including 14 cases in the Northern Health region.

There are 164 active cases in the region, including 13 in the Thompson/Mystery Lake District.
