241 new cases of COVID-19 announced in Manitoba, including 29 in the NRHA

241 cases of COVID-19 and five deaths were reported this afternoon during the provincial press briefing.

That includes 29 new cases in the Northern Health Region.

There are currently 15 active cases in the Thompson/Mystery Lake District, 70 cases in the The Pas/OCN/Kelsey District, and 2 cases in the Flin Flon/Snow Lake/Cranberry/Sherridon District. There are 155 active cases at this time.

Manitoba Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin is urging Manitobans to not socialize with people from outside their household, to cut down the number of close contacts, and avoid closed-in or crowded spaces.

Additionally, residents should focus on the COVID-19 fundamentals, such as staying home when sick, washing/sanitizing your hands and covering your cough, physically distance when you are with people from outside your household, and wear a mask to help reduce the risk to others.
