City transit could be up and running soon if council can agree.

Thompson City Council will vote tonight on a resolution that if approved would see the City of Thompson finalize and enter into a transit contract with Maple Bus Lines.

The City has been without municipal transit since Greyhound left western Canada at the end of October.

Maple Bus Lines, one of the companies currently offering almost daily service between Thompson and Winnipeg, has been providing service along the old Eastwood bus route for students since late November.
