Business Continues For Vale In Canada Following Events In Brazil

The beat goes on for Vale’s Manitoba Operations.

That’s according to company spokesperson Ryan Land following the tragic events in Brazil, where dam broke Friday at a Vale mine site resulting in over 60 deaths.

Speaking to Arctic Radio News, Land says that while the focus is on supporting the rescue efforts in Brazil, business for Vale in Canada continues from an operational standpoint.

Land says that the mining giant’s installations in Canada are being checked, though he adds they are safe and are monitored and evaluated on a regular basis.

He says that on a personal level, the focus for the company here in Canada is on speaking to employees, providing updates on the recovery efforts and offering support to anyone who requires it.

New reports are emerging that Brazilian authorities have issued arrest warrants for five people in relation to the collapse.
