Doctor Alan Rich was remembered and celebrated yesterday during a service at St Lawrence Roman Catholic Church.
Rich, who practiced medicine here in Thompson for 43 years, first came to Thompson before he was a doctor to work for Inco as a way to pay his way through school.
Over his career, his dedication and hard work saw him receive public recognition, including a key to the city of Thompson in 2014 and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Doctor Rich passed away in Swan River last week at the age of 73, just over a month away from his 74th birthday.
