There will be a by-election for the eighth and final seat on Thompson City Council.

The seat has been vacant since the October 24^th election, when candidates Andre Proulx and Chiew Chong found themselves tied at 1,008 votes.

The results of the election were subject to a judicial recount in November over a rejected ballot, though that recount resulted with the tie remaining and a different ballot being rejected.

Chong had recently put forward an application for a determination of entitlement for the final seat, though the he did not file the required documentation in time to have it heard in court.

The by-election will take place on March 11^th, and those wishing to run for the final seat have until February 3^rd to register.
