Thompson Fire and Emergency Services were busy last night, as they received a call around 10:00pm of a fire at the Thompson Inn.

Fire Chief Mike Bourgon said that while the fire caused extensive damage, the quick response of the fire department meant that they were able to contain the blaze to the restaurant.

Bourgon added that there were no injuries as a result of the fire, and that the cause is under investigation.

Public Road and Churchill Drive are closed around the Thompson Inn, and will remain closed until the investigation is complete.
