Annual Sally Ann Kettle Campaign Raises Record Amount

Thompsonites have come through once again to help those less fortunate here at home.

The annual Salvation Army Christmas kettle campaign raised just over $55,000; the highest amount ever collected here in the city.

That’s according to Roy Bladen, the ministry director for the Salvation Army here in Thompson.

Bladen spoke to Arctic Radio News, and said that it was amazing to see the influx of donations especially given the uncertain economic times facing the community.

He added that he would like to thank everyone who donated their time, money, toys or food.

All money raised through the Christmas kettle campaign stays here in Thompson, and is used entirely for the operation of the food bank.
