The City of Thompson and the International Association of Firefighters (I.A.F.F.) local 2200 have reached a new five-year deal.
The deal is retroactive to January 1st, as the previous agreement expired at the end of 2016.
City Council unanimously approved the new collective bargaining agreement at the last regular meeting of council.

Mayor Fenske said that the City recognizes the hard and dangerous work that the fire department does every day, and the agreement makes sure they receive the compensation they deserve.
I.A.F.F. local 2200 President Jason Kuras said that the new agreement is the continuation of the excellent relationship between the City and the Fire and Emergency Services in Thompson.
