Mystery Lake School Division Hosting BSSAP in Winnipeg

The Mystery Lake School Division will be hosting the Building Student Success with Aboriginal Parents at the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg.

On October 5th and 6th two students and one teacher from the school division will travel down to Winnipeg for the conference. The key note speaker will be singer-songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie. Sainte-Marie founded Cradleboard Teaching Project, an educational curriculum to better understand Native Americans.

The BSSAP initiative has partnered with specific school divisions to host an annual gathering of project sites. Each gathering showcases effective practices being implemented. It provides a foundation for ongoing work that focuses on enhancing the school system's ability to engage Aboriginal parents to have strong partnerships with schools.
