Construction Nears End

Construction in the city of Thompson hasn't had the best year when discussing weather delays, but the hope is to be finished up by the end of October.

Thanks to large cushion periods when projects are expected to be completed, most or all of the city projects should be finished before snow hits the ground.

City Planner Matt Boscariol says that the year has mirrored what happened last year, and that he has confidence that projects will be complete.

As construction is getting ready for the last stretch of time before winter hits, even businesses are finishing up their renovations.

Petro-Canada on Churchill drive will be undergoing some maintenance which will close a part of Churchill Drive for the remainder of this week. Boscariol explains that the gas station is changing valves underground which will cause the delay.

Other construction that will be hopefully done by the end of the week is T-valves that are getting made up for business around the Selkirk Avenue and Station road intersection. Friday is the estimated time of completion for that project.

And Cree Road construction has reached the phase of molding the curbs for the road. That process is expected to last about around 7-9 business days to complete.
