Highway 6 had a bit of a hold up last week when OCN Fishers and Trappers set up a protest as they were disagreeing with Manitoba Hydro.

The disagreement stems from damage that was caused by the Grand Rapids generating station in 1960 to the territorial land of four different First Nations and OCN. The damage severely impacted commercial trapping and fishing industry that they depended on before the Grand Rapids Station.

OCN Fishers and Trappers are looking for compensation for the damage.

The blockade won't stop the normal public, but Manitoba Hydro has been stopped, and anyone delivering Manitoba Hydro supplies will be stopped.
