Low Grades Given For Youth Activity

Canadian kids are not getting enough sleep, and in turn might be the reason they aren't outside getting the proper amount of physical activity.

The annual ParticipACTION report card was released and the country was given a D- for kids overall physical activity.

This year the report was sending the message the kids need their sleep to help them get energy to use for physical activity. 31% of school-aged kids are sleep-deprived and 36% of 14-to-17-year-olds found it difficult to stay awake during the day. Kids are encouraged to get 180 minutes worth of daily activity of any intensity, and 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous-intensity physical activity per day.
