The provincial Red Cross Disaster Management team wraps up their 2 day visit to Thompson today.

Provincial Manager of the team, Cailin Hodder, tells us what they’ve been doing:"team I have with me specializes in logistics, volunteer resources and outreach coordination. We’ve had a wonderful time and we’ve come up to Thompson over the last couple of days to just meet with some of our disaster management partners, meet with the city of Thompson, to really go around and help promote and recruit what we’re doing and volunteerism".

A one year agreement with the Federal government will see the Red Cross responsible for handling evacuations on reserves. The Disaster Management team has been making preparations for that role, around the province.
