Salvation Army running out of items in their food drive

A non-profit organization in the City that helps people in need, is in need themselves.

The Thompson Salvation Army is reaching out to the public for help.

Director, Roy Bladen says money from the kettle drive is running out:

"We do collect food at Christmas time, but unfortunately the food that we collect only lasts for about 6 or 7 weeks and then its gone so then we have to purchase what we need. Usually the funds keep us going till June or July but this year due to a higher demand through out food bank we are running out of food already and we are just heading into May".

Bladen says people can help out by donating food at boxes set up at Safeway and their Thrift Store in the plaza mall.
