RCMP officers were kept very busy ensuring the safety on Manitoba roads this summer.

From Victoria day long weekend to the Labour Day long weekend, Manitoba RCMP issued around 10-thousand tickets for traffic charges.   Roughly 63-hundred of those were for speeding offences and around 500 charges were related to impaired driving.

Unfortunately, during that time, there were 30 deaths caused by 28 fatal motor vehicle collisions.  Although that was down 21 deaths from the same period in 2013, the RCMP see room for improvement.    They challenge drivers to drive the speed limit, buckle up and drive sober.
