JOB TITLE: Field Service Technician
LOCATION: Various locations (Creighton, SK Thompson, MB Kamloops, BC)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide expert and disciplined analysis of structural, or mechanical, electrical or hydraulic systems
Teardown, re-assemble, commission/ test and trouble-shoot MEMCO equipment at customer sites or MEMCO facility, as required
Execute timely planned work tasks as directed by immediate Supervisor
Assist the Product Support Manager with the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and repair cost estimates, audits of Customer equipment, etc.
Develop professional working relationships with key Customer personnel, and communicate any customer organizational or policy change to Service Manager
Identify potential business (i.e. sales) opportunities, and communicate to the appropriate team (i.e. Sales, Engineering)

QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate of Qualification as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic (HDM) or Electrician (Industrial or Construction and Maintenance) preferred but not necessary as training can be provided for the right candidate. HDEM, Truck and Coach, Agricultural Equipment
Technician, Aircraft, Millwright, and Automotive Journeyman will also be considered

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years hands-on experience as Journey Person, preferably on heavy mobile equipment
Proficiency reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, hydraulic assembly drawings and electrical wiring
Harness and control system schematics
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to be flexible and open to new methods, processes and technologies
Ability to work independently or within a team under minimal supervision

Possess strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Conflict management and problem solving skills
Effectively communicate at a multi-disciplinary level with Engineering, Purchasing and Marketing staff
Proven leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Possess a valid drivers license and clean driving abstract
Willing to work overtime, off-shift and weekends (i.e. respond to after-hour customer calls) if and when required
Willing and able to travel domestically and/or internationally for extended durations if required (valid passport will eventually be required)

Night Auditor Duties:

 

Audits, balances, and reports on the various areas of the hotel (e.g., food and beverage, rooms, front desk, gift shop, etc.) to provide accurate and timely financial information on the hotel’s operational performance for the day.  Oversees front office/front desk operations during the overnight shift.

  • Checks front office accounting records for accuracy and compiles information for the hotel’s financial records.
  • Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics.
  • Prepares summary of cash, check, and credit card activities, reflecting the hotel’s financial performance for the day.
  • Posts room charges and room taxes to guest accounts.  Processes guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers.
  • Verifies all account postings and balances.
  • Summarizes results of operations and prepares reports for management.
  • Performs duties of the Front Desk Agent.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Accounting background preferred.
  • Previous hotel experience desired.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Present a professional image, and able to communicate well with both guests and employees.
  • Ability to operate front office equipment and computers.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures.
  • Ability to understand principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts.

Housekeeper duties:

 

Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues.

  • Maintains the hotel rooms and building to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Sets up cleaning cart with supplies.  Maintains carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms.
  • Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways.
  • Washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stall walls.  Wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks, and walls in order to have clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms.
  • Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature that has been removed by previous guest, or is soiled or torn, to ensure adequate supply for arriving guests.
  • Washes all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
  • Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
  • Strips bed of all linens and remakes with fresh linens.
  • Checks closet for cleanliness, wiping closet door, handle and overhead shelves and restocking the guest room supplies (e.g., hangers, extra blankets, extra pillows).
  • Vacuums rooms, public areas, and hallways.
  • Inspects door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and immediately alerts management to an unsecured or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees.
  • Checks lights and remotes to ensure all are in working order.
  • Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

 

  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending, and stooping to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighting up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Position:

We are currently looking for a full time Equipment Service Technician in our Service department at our location in Thompson, Manitoba.

As a member of the Wilson’s Service Team, you will be required to repair and maintain a wide range of office equipment including photocopiers, facsimiles, printers and mailing equipment within an existing territory. You must be able to manage and service a full territory with the ability to troubleshoot and repair connected equipment. Service work will involve both on-site and in-shop servicing.


Qualifications:

The successful candidate likes using his/her technical abilities to help others solve their office equipment problems. Training will be provided although education and training in the field of electronics (A+ or PDI+ certification) or experience servicing office equipment would be a definite asset. 

Having a positive attitude with above average communication, customer service, and organizational  skills would be a direct fit with our relationship based sales- and service-oriented approach. Completion of high school (or possession of a Grade 12 certificate) combined with a clean drivers abstract and being able to pass security clearances are particularly important.


Compensation will include a guaranteed salary and benefits depending on the qualifications and work experience of the successful candidate. A vehicle will also be provided for business use.
