Sports Today

The Winnipeg Jets are rolling through their pre-season schedule and will play the Edmonton Oilers this time around. The Oilers who have stand-out talent are expected to use future star Connor McDavid in action. Game time is at 7:00PM at the MTS Centre.


The Flin Flon Bombers will have a chance to improve their great start tonight when they host the Melville Millionaires. The Bombers have won 4 of their first 6 games on the season to take a three point lead in the Sherwood Division. Game time is at 7:30PM at the Whitney Forum.


A week after losing a heartbreaker to the Calgary Stampeders, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers would like to get back to their winning ways when they host the Edmonton Eskimos. The Bombers are currently fighting for a first round home game with the BC Lions while the Edmonton Eskimos are looking to cross over to the East division side for the playoffs. Game time is at 7:30PM at Investors Group Field.


The Norman Northstars will start their season on the road in Morden when they play the Pembina Valley Hawks. The Northstars won three games all of last year and would certainly like to improve their record this time around. Game time is at 8:00PM at the Huron Arena in Morden.


Sports Today

The Winnipeg Jets will be playing their second pre-season game tonight against their division foes the Minnesota Wild. The Jets lost their first pre-season game to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night 3-0. The Wild are 1-1 on the pre-season so far beating the Buffalo Sabres on Monday but then losing to the Avalanche on Tuesday. Game time is at 7:00PM.


Norman Wild Face Goalie Issues

The Norman Wild might have gone 3 and 1 last weekend in Portage la Prairie, but the success came at a cost.


The team, which has so far not finalized their roster, lost their only goalie last weekend to injury in the first game of the tournament. An emergency call up was required and the goalie came down from Dauphin.


The Wild I looking to have their official roster completed today in preparation of their first games on the season this weekend in Shoal Lake.


Wild Start Campaign Off With Pre-Season Tournament

The Norman Wild will start their hockey season this weekend with a tournament in Portage la Prairie.


The pre-season tournament starts one week before their official season starts on October 1st. The Wild will play some familiar teams when they play against Winnipeg, Interlake and Central Plains. The Battleford Sharks will be coming in from Saskatchewan to participate in the tournament and will be an opponent for the Wild.

Friday September 23rd - vs. Winnipeg Avros (7:30PM)

Murphy Steps Down as Wild Coach

The Norman Wild will start the season with a face behind the bench as Andre Murphy as stepped down from Head Coach of the team.


Lee Cummings will now take over the team for the 2016-2017 season.

Murphy stepped down from the position after the recent announced closure of Tolko Industries in The Pas. He will no longer be able to commit to traveling with the team every weekend.


The Wild are still continuing their tryouts through the month of September.
