Northstar Tony Apetagon gets hat trick in 8-3 win over Thistles


Another win for the Norman Northstars.

 

The Kenora Thistles visited Thompson over the weekend for two games. Luck was on the Northstars side for Saturday’s game as they defeated the Thistles 8-3. Northstar Tony Apetagon was responsible for 3 of those goals, giving him a hat trick.

 

They weren’t as lucky on Sunday’s game. The Thistles got by the Nortstars 3-2.

Northstars get second win of the season


The Norman Northstars got their second win of the season when they hosted the Pembina Valley Hawks over the weekend.

 

On Saturday the Northstars got 3 goals during the second period and 3 more in the third for a 6-1 win over the Hawks.

 

The Northstars couldn’t get a win streak going though, they lost 6-5 in yesterday’s rematch.

Northstars look to snap losing streak at home


The Norman Northstars look for their second win of the season, this weekend.

 

They host the Pembina Valley Hawks tomorrow night at 7:30pm, you can catch the game on 102.9 CHTM. The two teams will face off again on Sunday at 1:30.

 

Both the Northstars and the Hawks are currently at the bottom of the standings.

The Wild lose to the Wildcats in The Pas


It was a rough weekend in The Pas for the Norman Wild.

 

The Westman Wildcats beat the Wild 3-1 Friday night. The lone goal for the Wild was made by Captain Kali Cummings.

 

By the second period of Saturday's rematch, the Wildcats were up 5-0. The third period saw 4 more goals by the Wildcats, with the Wild upable to catch up. Final score was 9-0. 

 

The Wild have a few weekends off, before resuming league action December 19th and 20th.

Northstars lose 3 straight on the road


The Norman Northstars got 3 straight losses over the weekend.

 

On Friday the Central Plains Capitals got by the Northstars 3-2.

 

The league-leading Eastman Selects dominated the Northstars on Saturday’s game, 12-1.

 

And on Sunday the Northstars lost to the Winnipeg Wild, 5-2.

 

The next game for the Northstars is on Saturday when the host the Pembina Valley Hawks.

The Norman Wild will play another set of home games in The Pas this weekend.

 

The Wild host the Westman Wildcats Saturday night at the Roy H Johnston arena, puck drop is at 7:30pm.

 

Sunday is the rematch with the two teams meeting at 10:30am.

The Norman Northstars take to the road this weekend.

 

Tonight at 8pm they play the Central Plains Capitals.

 

Tomorrow they travel to Beausejour to face the league leading Eastman Selects, and on Sunday they’re up against the Winnipeg Wild.

The Yellowhead Chiefs blanked the Norman Wild 5-0 on Saturday which motivated The Wild as they won yesterdays game against the Interlake Lightning 5-0.

The Norman Northstars got their first win of the season when they hosted the Yellowhead Chiefs.

 

The Northstars got by the Chiefs on Saturday in overtime 5-4.

 

They couldn’t get a win streak going though as they lost 4-1 to the Chiefs in yesterday’s game.

 

The Northstars played the games without Coach Korman who was finishing up a 4 game suspension.
