Knight of Columbus track meet today


The 2015 Knights of Columbus track meet gets underway today at the TRCC.

 

The elementary students will compete throughout the day in various categories.

 

The public is welcome to attend the opening ceremonies at 7pm, with finals to follow shortly after, and closing ceremonies at 9:50pm.

Lacrosse registration open


It’s not too late to play lacrosse this year.

 

The Thompson Lacrosse Association will be accepting registration today and tomorrow at the TRCC from 6-8pm.  They have all sorts of categories, ranging from mini-tyke to masters.

 

For those looking to volunteer instead of play, the association is also welcoming volunteers. If interested, contact Glenn Laycock at 778-6947.

USW Local 6166 Hockey Tournament heads into finals


The United Steelworkers Local 6166 hockey tournament saw the Refinery dominate the T-1 Timberdogs 4-1 in the semi finals, while City Slickers beat Birchtree 7-0.

 

Later today the T-3 Flyers take on Smelter Rats in the consolation game at 6:30pm.

 

At 8pm the T-1 Timberdogs go against the Birchtree in the bronze game and City Slickers will battle Refinery in the championship game at 9:30pm.
