RDPC Basketball Teams Compete In Three Tournaments

The RD Parker Trojan basketball teams had a busy weekend, as the senior varsity (SV) girls, SV boys, and junior varsity (JV) boys all competed in tournament sin different locations around the province.

 

The SV girls were in Neepawa, while the boys were in Sanford (SV) and Brandon (JV).

 

The girls came out with a trophy, as they beat the Neelin Spartans 61-44 in the finals to come away with the tournament championship. The girls began the tournament with an automatic bye to the semifinals due to a forfeit by Goose Lake. The girls beat Portage 61-35 in the semis.

 

The SV boys beat Westgate 85-60 to finish third in the tournament in Sanford. David King of the Trojans was named to the tournament all-star team. The SV boys beat the Windsor Park Royals 96-36 to advance to the semis, where they met Neelin. In the semis, the Trojans lost 87-51.

 

The JV boys had a tougher weekend, losing the three games they played in. They opened the tournament with a 59-43 loss to the Garden Valley Zodiacs, before falling to the Swan Valley Tigers in a close one 59-56. They wrapped up their tournament with a 70-61 loss to the Dauphin Clippers.
