The Thompson Sports News

A huge congratulations are in order for the R.D. Parker "AAA" JV girls basketball team who won Provincials this past weekend.

The #2-seed Trojans opened the tournament in Altona against the #7 Calvin Christian Eagles, a game which R.D.P.C. took easily 53-27.

The girls then took on #3 John Taylor in the semi-final. The Trojans barely edged out the Pipers 47-40 to advance to the finals against #1 U of W.

The U of W Wesmen were the only other team to enter the tournament with an undefeated record.

The girls beat the Wesmen 62-53 to cap off a perfect 17-0 season with the Provincial Championship banner.

Avery Ritchie was named the Game Star for the championship game, while Emma Deibert was named to the tournament All-Star team and Ashley Williams was named tournament MVP.
